Green Science Implementation in Martha Tilaar Group
All human activity, whether its simple or technology-based, will give impact to environment. In fact, many of it are polluting the earth, and worsen by the explosion of human population, over exploration of nonrenewable natural resources, and the increasing of pollution and industrialization. One of the real results is global warming, that caused so many changes on earth, from the change of weather, water, air, and soil that will eventually impact human life.
Global warming issue has raise people awareness to give more concern in environmental damage, and it leads to green science. Green science is a real application of ecofriendly thought from various sciences that learn things relates to global warming, pollution, its impacts to earth and nature, and handling management.
FOUR PHASES OF GREEN SCIENCE TO MARTHA TILAAR GROUP
The founder of Martha Tilaar Group (MTG), Dr. (H.C) Martha Tilaar, who dedicate her life in Indonesia herb and cosmetic industry since 40 years ago, also wants this sustainable implementation for her product manufactur, development, and final result. Therefor, Martha Tilaar Innovation Center (MTIC) develop a cencept tree of green science for Martha Tilaar Group, especially PT Martina Berto, Tbk.
On Pioneers in Green Science: Several Models of Environmental Friendly Concept Implementation in Indonesia book that has been launced in 2011, Green Science in PT Martina Berto Tbk. devided into 4 phases product development, from the start to the end.
- Frist phase of green science is Green Resouces that consists of Green Knowledge, Green Cultivation and Organis Farming, Plant Material Standarization, Green Research, and Recycled Packaging.
- Second phase is Green Development that includes environmental friendly technology, fulfiling valid terms, efficiency process, cruelty-free, simple and minimalist design package, and green collaboration.
- Third phase is Green Process, including safe operational process, effcient waste reduction and production process, energy savings, and environment controlling.
- Last, Green Product as a its result should be safe to use and environmental friendly waste, as well as doing preservation for plants and biodiversity.
