The 17th Jember Fashion Carnaval Presents the Light of Asia

Jember Fashion Carnaval (JFC) has been held for 17 consecutive years. ‘Asia Light’ becomes the main theme of the show for this year. JFC President, Dynand Fariz said ‘Asia Light’ is representing the strength of Asia countries, while in accordance with the Asia’s biggest sport event, Asian Games, which will begin on 18 August 2018. In the Asian Games 2018, JFC representatives will be participating in the opening ceremony with spectacular costumes and makeup from Indonesia, India and Thailand.

This year, JFC represents 10 defiled which inspired by Asia, including Kujang (an Indonesian traditional weapon), a thousand pagodas (Thailand), Silla kingdom (Korea), Shogun warrior (Japan), Bian Lian opera makeup art (China), Stars, Babylon, Ottoman empire (Turkey), Saudi Arabia, and India. All defiles were presented by 2,500 participants from various backgrounds, from children, students, adults and fashion students at ESMOD Jakarta.

Sariayu Martha Tilaar has been consistently supporting JFC to give a touch of perfection to the JFC performers through makeup. With various collections of Sariayu Color Trend—The Colors of Asia, Sariayu expects to always support JFC every year. “We hope our partnership with JFC will sustain, grow stronger and bring many benefits, especially for the growth of fashion, beauty and tourism industries in Indonesia. This partnership is also expected to inspire the industries to develop and explore their creativity consistently,” Sariayu representatives stated during JFC Press Conference on 11 August.
