Building a Comfortable and Productice Working Environment, PT. Martian Berto Applied 5R
In every company, a clean and tidy working environment is an important aspect to be implemented. Without it, there will be nonconducive workplace that leads to less productivity and higher inefficiency at work. As a manufacturing company, PT Martina Berto Tbk not only set quality standard for its production, but also for working environment in order to support employee’s performance. To build a comfortable and productive working environment, our company applied 5R culture (Ringkas - concise, Rapi - neat, Resik - clean, Rawat - maintain, and Rajin - diligent).
What is 5R?
5R is a method adapted from the 5S method (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, Shitsuke) that usually used by Japanese companies in achieving successful production management. The notion of 5R itself is as follows:
1. Ringkas : Segment and separate unnecessary items
2. Rapi : Make arrangements at work
3. Resik : Keep clean at work
4. Rawat : Maintain a compact, neat and workable condition at work
5. Rajin : Get in the habit of being neat and tidy at all times
The Application of 5R in Environment PT. Martina Berto Tbk
PT Martina Berto Tbk implements 5R in the framework of risk control related to work activities to create a safe, efficient and productive workplace. The goal is to improve efficiency and quality of the work environment. To involve all employees, the implementation is done by the company by organizing 5R competition which is followed by all divisions within the company. PT Martina Berto Tbk believe that a good working environment will be achieved if the 5R implementation is done in a discipline and routine manner as a shared responsibility.
