Golden Wedding Stories: An Inspiring Marriage Life

To celebrate the golden wedding anniversary of the Founder and Chairwoman of Martha Tilaar Group, DR. (H.C) Martha Tilaar and Prof. Dr. H.A.R Alex Tilaar, Biokos Martha Tilaar along with Belladonna Magazine held a Golden Wedding Stories competition. Through this competition, Martha Tilaar Group want to appreciate couples who successfully maintain their marriage life for 20, 30, and 40 years, and to give inspiration for the society so they can always remember that a marriage is not only about the unity of woman and man, but also as the chance to share, take care, and complete each others.

“I notice that so many couple can easily decided to divorce, they seem forget to see the sacred meaning of marriage itself. Through Golden Wedding Stories competition, I want to tell everybody that a marriage can be so beautiful and can complete each other,” explained the Founder and Chairwoman Martha Tilaar Group.


Participated in Golden Wedding Stories competition, the couples who has been married for 20, 30, and 40 years asked to write down their story, advise and tips to maintain their marriage. After passed the tight selection, eventually picked 11 couple over hundreds participants from all over Indonesia as the finalists.

In the final night that held in Grand Hyatt Hotel Jakarta, January 12, 2014, with DR. Martha Tilaar, Dra. Mien Uno, and the Head of BKKN, Fasli Jalal, as the judges, eventually decided 5 couples, which for 3 main winners and 2 favorite winners. The winners are Susi Rooswitasulistyowati and Posma Purba from Jakarta, Ila Cahya and Joshua H. Chiptadaya from Bandung, RD Siti Nurkorimah and Bachrudin from Cirebon, and two couples of favorite winners are FX Sunardi and Maria F. Wasiyatni from Rembang, and Ruslan and Sugiatut from Pati.
