To Force Innovation, PT Martina Berto, Tbk Do Collaboration with BBRP2B

To speed up marine and fisheries innovation result to downsream and give direct benefits to the society through industry partnership, Marine and Fisheries Human Resource and Research (BRSDM) has held a Science and Innovation Bussiness Matching (SIMB) meeting on October 9, 2018 at Marine Affairs and Fisheries Ministry ballroom, Jakarta. Along with the meeting, one of Martha Tilaar Group bussiness units, PT Martina Berto, Tbk also signed a collaboration with Research Center for Marine and Fisheries Product Processing and Biotechnology (BBRP2B).

Corporate Creative Innovative Director of Martha Tilaar Group, Kilala Tilaar, and Head of BBRP2B agreed to sign MoU and collaboration agreement that includes Herbal and Cosmetics Active Ingredients Ultilization Research. This collaboration is based on the objective to develop and downstreamed marine active materials so the result of the research can be utilized by PT Martina Berto, Tbk in cosmetic production process.

“This collaboration also started from our concerns to the tendency of cosmetic industry high dependency to import raw materials, the usage of import seaweed from France, for example. It’s pretty funny because our country is known for its remarkable natural resources. Indonesia is one of the biggest seaweed producents in the world,” said Kilala. He took the action to collaborate with various parties like Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education, universities, and now Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries to produce self-sustainable raw materials. With good integration in research, innovation, and technology, PT Martina Berto, Tbk and BBRP2B wish to optimize benefits and results for Indonesia.
