Artists from Four Countries Held an Art Performance at Roemah Martha Tilaar

This February (2/1), Roemah Martha Tilaar in Gombong, Kebumen, warmly welcomed some special guests, an artist from Taiwan, Japan, and Spain. Along with Indonesian artists, three of those artists participated in the Art Showcase “Take the Culture Closer” which performed in front of Gombong's community. Here all the artists showed various art performances from each country.

The Lan Yang group from Taiwan presented a beautiful traditional dance brought by some beautiful dancers. From Japan, there were two musicians from the Wakiaiai group who played a legendary song Kokoro no Tomo using steel pan instruments. From Spain, there was a guitar soloist Adolfo Timuat with his amazing talent in playing guitar as a drum and a great fingering technique. As well as those artist fellow, some local artists from Indonesia also enliven the show. Sanggar Dhea community from Gombong presented kenthongan music and Capetan dance, meanwhile, the Titik Kumpul community from Ayah mixed rock and Javanese music using guitar, gamelan, and angklung instruments.

The show of this fellowship artist from four countries is a collaboration between a non-profit organization from Taiwan called Art for Better World (AFBW) with the Formosa Melody community and Roemah Martha Tilaar. AFBW become one of the art performance conductor partners with many artists from various countries. It is also the same organization that invited Titik Kumpul community from Kebumen to attend Yilan International Art Festival with other artists from 12 countries in October 2018.

“We do hope that this event will raise cultural awareness and encourage people to realize that cultural diversity is not a barrier, otherwise it builds a good relationship. Moreover, art and creativity will make the culture of the nation to be more colorful,” said Alona Ong from Roemah Martha Tilaar.
