How do you see the importance of investing in women during good and bad times?
Â
For us, we take investing in women very earnestly since more than 70% of our human resources are women. More than just to hire them, Martha Tilaar Group also wants to empower women especially our employees, through education in many aspects of life, culture and also giving them the chance to participate in greening the nation. Â
Â
Â
How to empower women entrepreneurs to think creatively and act fast in catching business opportunities to utilize the momentum?
Â
Â
Women need to make a change, therefore empowering women in Indonesia always be our main commitment by implementing the 5C concept (Creative, Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration, and Co-Creation). We believe this concept will help women to improve their standard of living and family and to give a contribution to the national and world economy.
Â
Please share the role of Martha Tilaar Group in Beautifying Indonesia to empower women in Indonesia for 50 years
From the beginning, we have done plenty to empower women by involving them in our business lines as well as the supply chain from upstream to downstream. We also emphasize Women Empowerment as one of the four pillars of our company foundation along with Beauty Green, Beauty Culture, and Beauty Education. For example, Martha Tilaar Training Centre has more than 6.000 alumni. Most of them have succeeded in building their own business and we sincerely hope they can be as successful as Dr. (H.C) Martha Tilaar. Another example, we collaborate with Asian Pulp & Paper (APP) Sinar Mas to train and empower women to APP Sinar Mas's community who live in the rural area in the border of Jambi forest so they can increase their skill and be able to directly implement it in their daily life.
Â
Besides that, we also have a Beautifying Indonesia campaign. One of the objectives of this movement is to increase women’s value and potency, including to beautify Indonesia's nature and culture. We fully support women to be active in their working sphere and giving them an equal chance to contribute and realize their potential as men in hoping to create a better and balanced world.
