The Gandrung Sewu Festival, which was held at Marina Boom Beach, Banyuwangi on 29th October 2022, took the theme "Sumunare Tlatah Blambangan" or "Blambangan Earth's Sparkle". This theme tells a story of Banyuwangi when it was still an area of the Blambangan Kingdom and tells of the heroic actions of the people of Blambangan (Banyuwangi) who fought for independence. According to the Head of the Banyuwangi Tourism Office, Muhammad Yanuar Bramudya, the theme was chosen because it tells the story of Bumi Blambangan which began to move with cultural arts that developed well in Tanah Blambangan Banyuwangi.

The colossal drama "Kemilau Bumi Blambangan" was beautifully displayed on the sandy lawn of Boom Beach for about an hour. Tens of thousands of spectators who watched the festival were amazed and fascinated by the dynamic movements of the gandrung dancers with distinctive red attributes to the accompaniment of Osing's rancak gamelan music that combines Javanese and Balinese culture, and of course the beautiful colorful touches on the makeup of all the dancers who use the quality products from Sariayu Martha Tilaar. It is an honor at this year's event, Sariayu Martha Tilaar once again has the opportunity and trust to give full support to the makeup aspect by becoming an official makeup partner. Moreover, Gandrung Dance has been designated as an Intangible Cultural Heritage by the Ministry of Education and Culture.

After 2years absences due to the pandemic, this year's Gandrung Sewu Festival is the ninth time.
