The CEO of Martha Tilaar  Group, Dr. Kilala Tilaar feels grateful for the trust given by BRIN. “We thank you for this opportunity and trust, so Martha Tilaar Group can contribute to the preservation of 11 rare plant species. This is in line with one of our company’s pillars, Beauty Green. The cultural and natural biodiversity has always been our concern because we are committed to utilizing Indonesia's natural resources to produce good quality innovations and products.

Since the first time, Martha Tilaar Group always wanted to be consistent in exploring local wisdom,  seriously research various TOKA (Aromatic, Cosmetics, and Medicine plants), and cultivate those plants development through Kampoeng Djamoe Organik (KaDO) Martha Tilaar. Research and studies on various Indonesian natural ingredients have also been carried out for a long time through the Martha Tilaar Innovation Center (MTIC). Not only that, MTIC also develops and produces natural active ingredients, namely Plantasens Berto Extract, which uses Indonesian natural resources, both for internal needs and for export. This is an effort to reduce dependence on imported raw materials. Meanwhile, for exports, PT Martina Berto Tbk (one of the business units of the Martha Tilaar Group) collaborates with Clariant, a leading raw materials company in the world.

The collaboration between Martha Tilaar Group and BRIN itself has been held for a long time. In 2012, the two of them began their collaboration by signing an MoU regarding Cooperation on the Exploration, Identification, and Domestication of the Coelogyne marthae S.E.C. Sierra Orchid to obtain and develop the potential of the Coelogyne marthae S.E.C. Sierra orchid. Now, this collaboration is being strengthened by planting rare plants from BRIN in Kampoeng Djamoe Organik Martha Tilaar.
