Martha Tilaar Group begins from a small beauty salon established by DR. (H.C.) Martha Tilaar at a garage sized 4x6 meter in 1970. In 1981, the company called PT Martina Berto was founded by Dr. HC. Martha Tilaar, (the late) Pranata Bernard, and Theresa Harsini Setiady, established the first modern factory on Jl. Pulo Ayang No. 3, Pulogadung Industrial Estate, which manufactures cosmetics and herbal medicine with brand Sariayu Martha Tilaar for the first time. In 1986, the company built a second modern factory on Jl. Pulo Kambing, Pulogadung Industrial Estate (Pulo Kambing Factory).

Martha Tilaar Group officially inaugurated the shared office for two of its business units—PT Kreasi Multicahaya Estetika (KME) and PT Kreasi Kebanggaan Bangsa (KKB)—on Friday, June 12, 2026. PT Kreasi Multicahaya Estetika (KME) is the company behind Raine Beauty, while PT Kreasi Kebanggaan Bangsa (KKB) is the company behind Smith.
Last week, PT Cedefindo welcomed the visit of two special guests, namely the wife of the Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives Commission V, Mrs. Marlyn Maisarah, and the wife of the Indonesian Minister of State Secretary, Mrs. Wahyu Fibriyanti, who were welcomed directly by the CEO of Martha Tilaar Group, Dr. Kilala Tilaar.
